Hypocrisy

Ok, I hate hypocrisy. Period. On either side of the isle, in anything. Why are the Democrats saying Palin's personal life should be kept off limits? Both parties engage in personal politics, do they not? And should the fact that Palin is campaigning full time with an infant at home be off limits? I don't know, I think when you are electing someone, their choices in their personal lives do reflect their value system, do they not?

Anyone who has had an infant understands that they are incredibly transportable. Also, I understand that the father is hands on when it comes to raising the family, so it appears there is support from him. No one ever questions fathers who have demanding jobs with little ones at home. I wonder if Biden underwent the same scrutiny when he kept his senate seat with two young boys. Talk about hypocrisy.

When Palin made the decision to accept the VP nomination, with full knowledge of her daughter's pregnancy, she was responsible for shoving her family into the national spotlight. That's part of her character. Indeed, it looks like part of the republican strategy with Palin is to use her family as a "shield": i.e. you can't criticize her or you're attacking working mothers / special needs children / etc.

I haven't seen any Democrats actually making the argument that she shouldn't run because of a family related issue. I've only seen Republican sound bytes complaining about it.

How about criticizing her stance on the issues? I am sure there is plenty for the Left to attack other than her family. I think even Obama said the children of politicians are "especially off limits". But then, he has "shoved" his family into the spotlight as well.

I haven't heard Democrat politicians remark on Palin's family as much as i have heard pundits in the media questioning her ability to be VP and mother small children. I guess the Feminist movement should announce that Republican women need not apply.

I hadn't actually heard anyone question if she could be vp with small children? Did someone on a major network bring that up?

Yup. On MSNBC.
