The San Francisco Chronicle has a great article today on how young voters are being targeted for political advertising this Presidential season. Ads for both Presidential contenders are now appearing on MTV and Comedy Central. Interestingly enough, the average viewer on MTV is 22 and on Comedy Central is 29. The question arises as to how many actual voters these ads will be hitting. Some estimates say that more then a third of viewers may not be voters who are registered or eligible to vote. Will these ads get more people to register to vote? Increase turnout? Only time will tell.
